Locals in Abura Academy, a small community in the Cape Coast North constituency in the Central region have been left shocked and stupefied after news of the sudden demise of a 21-year-old boy reached them.
The deceased, whose name is given as Mohammed Kojo Musah is believed to have taken his own life by hanging himself in his room.
Reports suggest that the deceased left behind a suicide note which content have not yet been revealed to reporters.
Confirming the tragic development, the father of the deceased, Kwabena Mohammed told reporters that his late son was very much of a lively person and nothing showed there was something bothering him to the extent of having to take his own life by hanging.
According to him, the boy’s mother had given him some money to repair their broken-down TV and to also buy some prepaid credits for the home around 8 pm but he came back around 11 pm late in the night and went straight to bed.
“I was outside this morning around 8:00 am when l heard my daughter, wife, and neighbors mourning, I rushed home and found out that, my son Mohammad Kojo Musah has hanged himself to death’ The matter was subsequently reported to the UCC Police station for further investigations.
‘When the police came to the room, according to the father of the deceased, they found him hanging there and also found a note believed to have been left behind by the deceased.
He explained that the Police CID didn’t open the note in front of them but as police has launched investigations into the matter they will definitely get to know what is inside the note as well as the cause of his death.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation while police finalize investigations.
