The pastor who took social media by storm for not blessing the marriage of a couple for coming to the church late , Pastor Essa Ogorry of Fulfilling Word Foundation Church, has reportedly died on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
This has shocked many people as His wife, Tonyemieba Essa-Ogorry, also died on the same date just last year ago, Feb 16, 2020.
Just last week, this pastor made headlines for making what was supposed to be a happy day painful for a couple over lateness.
This led to an altercation between church members and the wedding guests as the whole place became chaotic.
Despite pleas, the pastor went into his office and declined to wed them at the appointed time.
The couple was left hanging for one hour stating that he will wed them at his own convenience inside his office, not in the church as expected.
The bride eventually breaks down in tears while the groom tries to console her outside the church building.
Those defending the pastor clashed with those who were on the side of the heartbroken couple.
Breaking the news with footages , the wedding photographer wrote: “Annoying events at the wedding I was covering today in PH
“The couple came 5 minutes late and pastor left the church, kept us for 1 hour and said he’ll join them in his office after returning
“Some pastors are feeling like God.”
However, fortunately, the couple improvised and requested for another pastor to come and officiate them in a hotel.
Tributes have been pouring in for the pastor and his church has released a video of him tagged: “Our cherished moments with Pastor Essa Ogorry.”
A member of the church said the pastor was sick and came from Lagos to Port Harcourt for the wedding, which is why he was strict with the couple when they arrived late.
