Report: PSG Put Up An Interesting Plan Ready To Sign Messi

As per a report by Cuatro, Paris Saint Germain have an interesting strategy lined up to sign Lionel Messi.

The French outfit have been heavily linked to the Argentine in recent weeks and have expressly stated their desire to have him at the club in the coming summer.

L’Equipe have analysed that there are numerous possibilities for Messi to join PSG. They believe the superstar will be able to join for four reasons: Neymar’s presence and wish to reunite, they have had contact with Messi already, his contract expires in June and Kylian Mbappe could be on his way out.

Lionel Messi has constantly been linked to PSG and Manchester City ever since the infamous burofax saga at the end of the 19-20 season.

The Barcelona captain is a free agent this summer and the Parisiens have not shied away from trying to seduce him.

Neymar, Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes and even director Leonardo have stated that they wish for Messi to move to France.

The report highlights that PSG will have to part ways with Mbappe to make Messi’s arrival feasible.

The Frenchman is just one season away from the end of his contract and his departure would ease the wage bill.

L’Equipe also reported that Neymar has phoned his former teammate and good friend Messi in order to persuade him about a move to Paris.

Jordi Alba, one of the heavyweights in the dressing room, was also asked about the Argentine’s situation in the press conference ahead of the PSG clash.

The 31-year-old wants Messi to stay at the club, and pointed towards the fact that the player will be the one to decide.

While Messi has made no decisions about his future yet, there is little doubt that PSG will chase him with everything they have.

Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain will square off tomorrow in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie.

With the Messi dynamic added to the mix, it is marked to be a thrilling encounter.
