Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has justified and aligned reasons for which he believes he is the highest-paid parliamentarian in the country.
According to maverick politician cum business mogul most of his fellow parliamentarians are financially constrained, contrary to the public notion that they serve in a profitable venture.
He explained that most Parliamentarians owe loans and take care of scores of their constituents after each month.
‘We all take our wages correctly but in terms of what goes into my account each month, I am actually the highest-paid MP.
‘He clarified that much of the MP’s car loan is deducted from their salaries every month owed.
Besides being a parliamentarian, Mr. Agyapong owns a fleet of businesses in the country including a media conglomerate.
In other development, a group of robbers have attacked the Rootsenaf Gas Filling Station at Satsimadza near Agbozume.
The fuel station is believed to belong to the Member of Parliament (MP) of the Keta Constituency in the Volta Region, Dzudzorli Gakpey.
Sources explain that this is the second time the Member of Parliament has been attacked in a single month.
The security man at post sustained several gunshot wounds while the robbers were able to make away with an amount of Ghc7000, a pump-action gun, and other unspecified items.
According to Mr. Gakpa, the robbers used the same pistol they stole from him to rob his filling station.
