Renowned controversial boxer, Braimah Kamoko, famously known as, Bukom Banku, has revealed the reason why he decided to wear eyelashes in public.
During an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM, the boxer revealed that he felt that his name was fading away gradually, and knowing this, he needed to do something to keep trending.
He then decided that he was going to bleach his body and also wear fake eyelashes because he knew that he was going to gain a lot of public attention.
This move cost the boxer his job as a host at GhOne TV and earned him a lot of backlash from the public for making such a shabby move.
Braimah Kamoko was born on August 17, 1980, and he had an undefeated streak until October 21, 2017, where he lost by TKO from his opponent, Bastie Samir at the Bukom Boxing Arena. Braimah first rose to prominence when he won a bronze medal in the Heavyweight 1999 All-Africa Games which was organized in the South African city of Johannesburg in September 1999.
The boxer then won the WBO Africa Light Heavyweight title in 2011 and the WBO Africa Cruiserweight title in 2012. Despite his time of success, the boxer began suffering from periods of inactivity which led to him losing the match with Samir in 2017.
Bukom Banku then ended up with his license as a boxer revoked by the Ghana Boxing Association in November 2019. This was because he has breached a contract he had with Box Office Promotions to engage in a rematch with Bastie Samir which was to be held on the 20th of June, 2018.
For breaching his contract, he was asked to pay a fine of GHC17,000 to the CEO of Box Office Promotions. Later on, the boxer found himself hosting a show on GhOne TV.
Aside from being a host on GhOne TV, he also tried other ventures which included music, however, his music career would not be accepted by the public after many claimed the song was very bad.
