Many Ghanaians have given their opinions on celebrity endorsing political parties in the country.
Prince David Osei, Bibi Bright, and Samini are some of the notable celebs to have endorsed the New Patriotic Party.
‘Amongst these three, Samini through his Kpoyaka song endorsed President Nana Akufo-Addo has received a lot of criticism especially from his colleagues in the industry.
Keche Andrew a member of the hiplife duo has also expressed his opinion after Samini’s endorsement.
‘In an interview with Amansan Krakye on Kastle Drive, Keche christened Andrew Kofi Cudjoe said many musicians who endorse political parties do not have money, are hungry or are no longer active in the music industry.
“Look at those musicians who openly endorse the political parties, they are not active and relevant in the music industry.
‘Some of them have even stopped doing music so they see it as other means to survive.
Keche Andrew told on Kastle FM that he’s not lambasting those artistes who engage in endorsing political but noted that the group Keche are not thinking of doing same since they don’t want to bring an end to their career.
“I understand them so I’m not criticizing them but as for Keche we’re not looking at ending our career anytime soon.
‘It’s not that no political party approached us but we refused the proposals,” he concluded.
