SHOCKER!! Prophet Jailed For Defrauding Church Member Of GH₵ 260,203.87

A prophet has been jailed for defrauding his church members of N17m. (GH₵ 260,203.87).

The actions of the convict identified as a Cleric, Prophet Israel Ogundipe, Shepherd-in-Charge of Celestial Church of Christ Global Genesis parish came to light after the complainant, Mrs. Olaide Williams-Oni dragged him to court on the complaint of a London-based architect, who accused him of obtaining a total of N17m (GH₵ 260,203.87) from her with the promise to help her procure some landed property.

According to Williams-Oni, she met the cleric in 2002 during her visit to Nigeria when she was taken to his church for prayers by her step-sister.

Prophet Israel was prosecuted on seven counts but was found guilty on two by Justice Olabisi Akinlade.

The judge dismissed five of the charges for lack of evidence.

The judge further sentenced Ogundipe to one year’s imprisonment on each count but said the prison terms would run concurrently.

In other news, Police have launched a manhunt for some three officers after they allegedly stole scores of mobile phones and an HP Laptop valued at about Ghc60,000 and cash of Ghc8000 for inmates.

According to Police investigators, the complainant had reported that his shop in Ahinsan, a suburb of Kumasi, was broken into and twenty (20) mobile phones stolen and about GHc8000 stolen from the shop.

A team of police personnel, upon intelligence, picked up a suspect Losoya Bayor around Moshie Zongo.

After his arrest, a search at his residence led to three mobile phones and three (3) tablet phones believed to be part of the items stolen from the shop.

Losoya Bayor confessed to the police that he stole the items in a dawn raid, however, on his way home he met a Police Patrol team from Manhyia.

The office on board arrested him and forcibly took eight of the phones and all the money.

After probing the officer caught in the case, Charles Antwi, Prince Owusu, and Timothy Azure who are all officers at ‘B’ District, Manhyia.
