A man has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for butchering his friend over 5 Ghana cedis bread at Nkurakan in the Yilo Krobo municipality.
Reports say the suspect identified as Ayittey Joshua bought bread after he closed from work on that fateful day.
The bread according to Ayittey was his meal for the next morning.
But upon reaching home, one of his friends came to visit him and ended up taking the bread away without his knowledge.
The two ended up fighting which resulted in him getting butchered in the knee, upper arm, and back.
In other news, a 28-year-old man identified as George Adu-Gyamfi has been stabbed to death over pork at Kwadaso.
According to an eye witness, the deceased was stabbed to death by a friend during an argument at a drinking spot in the town.
The deceased upon arrival at the beer bar is said to have bought a drink after which he sat quietly before the arrival of the accused.
The suspect is said to have picked a ladder and started stirring a saucepan containing the meat continuously to the dismay of Adu-Gyamfi who demanded he stopped since the meat was for the public.
However, Yaw was said to have reacted angrily to this advice leading to the exchange of abusive words between the two friends. Other people gathered at the bar separated the two.
Yaw who was suspected to be drunk at the time left the scene and armed himself with a kitchen knife and later rushed to the spot screaming “I’ll kill you!! I’ll kill you!! I’ll kill you!!”
Since the late Adu-Gyamfi had left for the house at the time of his arrival, Yaw chased him and met him by a bush road, stabbed him multiple times in the right shoulder after wish he runs away.
He, therefore, managed to escape the scene and has since been declared wanted
