A fire outbreak has hit the Odawna market near the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra destroying goods worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
According to eye witness, identified as John Ofori, the fire started around 1am.
“We saw the smoke from afar, so we thought it was the [GCB] bank but it was instead coming from the market. It took the Fire Service about two hours to douse the fire.
As of now the cause of the fire outbreak is not known.
However, Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) rushed to the scene to put the fire under control.
So far there have not been reports of casualties.
