Actress Emelia Brobbey Talks About Teacher Trainee Allowance

Emelia Brobbey is a Ghanaian actress turned singer who was trained as a teacher at the Kibi Training College in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

She was a proud teacher until she switched to movie acting which has made her millions of Cedis plus many awards to her name.

Emelia Brobbey is her name. This morning she has waded into the talks of the importance of the teacher trainees allowance which the NPP restored after the NDC government led by ex-President Mahama cancelled it and its impacts on students.

She revealed during an interview on Cape Cost based Kastle FM that the receiving of the allowance was a timely intervention and helpful.

She used her time at the teacher training College as an example and explained that it was really helpful to receive the allowance.

In explaining further, she disclosed that whenever she received it, the first thing to do was to go to a hair salon to wash her hair and dress it well.

After she is done with her hair, the next thing on her mind is to buy some foodstuffs to survive the whole full months which was her saviour.

Her alma mater is now a college of education and not a training college anymore.

She disclosed that after school, the NSS posted her to a remote area to begin her journey of teaching but the salary took a very long time before it reaches her account.
