A couple has been arrested for allegedly killing a two-year-old girl at Sefwi Akoti in Wiawso municipality of the Western North Region.
According to the Regional Judicial Police, ASP Michael Nkekesi said, the assemblyman for the electoral area, Simon Akoh reported to the police that a dead body had been found in a latrine at Akoti.
The police then arrested the mother of the deceased, Naomi Ofori, 20 years.
During interrogations, Naomi is said to have claimed innocence and blamed the death of the child on her boyfriend, Kwasi Amoah.
According to the suspect, her 34-year-old lover identified as kwasi Amoah, had earlier suggested that they sell her daughter, but she disagreed.
She stated that her child had gone missing three days before her body was found in the latrine.
Just for that she believes her lover, Kwasi is responsible for the death of her child.
Following that, Kwasi Amoah has been arrested to assist in investigations.
The two suspects have been remanded into police custody whilst the corpse has also been deposited at Sefwi Wiawso hospital morgue for an autopsy.
In other news, A traditional leader and four others have reportedly been killed at Wereng community of Riyom local government area of Plateau in Nigeria.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the village and started shooting sporadically, leading to the killing of at least five persons.
Several others were said to be seriously injured.
Also , Two university students are reportedly fighting for their lives after falling four floors from a rooftop while taking a selfie together during a party.
Report says the two women both 19 were part of a gathering at an off-campus apartment building in Philadelphia, USA, when they fell at 2am on Saturday, October 3.
The two fell onto the pavement of an alleyway alongside the building, and one remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The other patient suffered leg and ankle injuries during the incident.
