Football Is Back! Government Reveals Date For Ghana Premier League To Return


Government has lifted ban on all contact sports paving way for football to return.

In President H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo’s 17th national address on covid-19, he indicated that government has been in a broader consultation with the health service and it’s right to lift ban on contact sports.

This he said that the Ghana premier league and Division One league after talks with the Ghana FA will start on 30th October with 25% fans in attendance as Covid-19 test will also be conducted for footballers.

He also said that fans would not be allowed at training grounds of the clubs as part of ensuring the necessary protocols laid down to combat the virus.

Ghana government as part of the strategic ways to avoid the spread of the coronavirus in the sports industry lifted the restrictions on non-contact sports not long ago while allowing the Black Starlets, Satellites, and the Maidens to resume training ahead of their respective CAF and FIFA assignments.
