Social media has been buzzing following the release of increment in fares by some group called the Concerned Drivers Union.
The group on July 6th 2020 increased its transport fares by 30 percent, following the increases in fuel prices.
According to leadership of the group, commercial drivers are also dealing with reduced income because of their reduced intake and adherence to COVID-19 social distancing protocols.
Vice-chairman of the group, David Agboado, said they have directed their members across the country to increase transport fares.
To him passengers would have to bear the cost of the recent fuel increment.
“We are telling our passengers that from [today] on, when you go out, calculate 30 percent extra of what you used to pay,” Mr. Agboado noted.
Now following this development, Netizens could not keep calm.
