Ghana Football Association Executive Council has cancelled the 2019-20 football season.
The GFA unanimously voted to terminate the season following long hours of meeting at their secretariat on Tuesday.
According to the FA, the current campaign will be rendered null and void following uncertainty over the coronavirus shutdown.
Official Twitter handle of the FA wrote:
‘The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has taken a decision to cancel the 2019/2020 football season following a marathon meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at the GFA Secretariat in Accra. Details soon!
The Ghana FA made this long awaited decision after it announced weeks ago that the final decision of the season will be announced today.
Article 78 of the 2019 GFA Statutes amended at Congress on December 19 clearly stipulate that “The Executive Council shall have the power to decide on all cases of force majeure and on all matters not provided for in these Statutes, such decisions to be made according to right and justice, taking into account the relevant regulations of FIFA and CAF.”
We wait to know when the FA will come with much details about this decision.
