Former WBO Super Bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogbe is clashing with his father over consulting a fetish priest for black magic ‘Juju’ prior to his last bout against Emmanuel Navarrete.
Father and trainer for the boxer Paul Dogbe in a recent interview with Joy FM disclosed that his team had a prophecy from a ‘juju man’ that they will win the bout at Round three.
“We were bringing a stool that hasn’t come back to his throne yet. When you are repairing all these things they have to be doing certain rituals and things and we’ve done all that.”
“But when the prophet told me that, Paul, things will not be well and I told my son that this fight, the juju people say we going to knock Navarrete out in round two and the prophet says this cannot be.”
Paul Dogbe In an earlier interview said the statement above has been taken out of context.
In a video that was addressed to TV3, Isaac Dogbe stated that he knows nothing of what the father said using Juju in that said bout.
“I want to make this very clear. I have no association with any fetish priest and I have never consulted any of them to help me win a fight.
‘I have always credited my victories to God and God alone, so it doesn’t make sense for me to consult a fetish priest to help me win a fight.”
“God has been with me from the very beginning through all my victories and defeats because I believe and pray to God for all my victories.”
“These rumors that are going around, as ridiculous as they are they have caused a lot of embarrassment to me, my friends, and all those that I’m associated with.
‘I have no desire to worship a deity” said Isaac Dogbe.
Isaac Dogboe lost his WBO Super Bantamweight bout to the Mexican boxer Emmanuel Navarrete in 2018. And since then Isaac Dogboe is yet to bounce back into the ring.
