Ghana International Asamoah Gyan has hinted that Ghanaians love him to the core.
According to Gyan many Ghanaians praise him for his contributions for Ghana and his playing career.
“I feel like people love me more than the people who don’t which is a balance thing. I think 90% of the Ghanaian populace love me but the negative once causes more damage than the positive once”
“Me feel unappreciated, the records are there. Just recently I have seen people saying a lot of good things about me on social media but I do ask myself why didn’t they said it before when I was in my prime causing problems for defenders.
“Now that we are home and I am 34 years now, people want to retire me. They think I have retired and that want to say good things about me. Sometimes it feels good but sometimes I just sit down and shake my head.
“I’m also a fan of social media, I remember somebody tweeted about Ronaldo that he has scored in ten consecutive tournaments that is where you will see a Ghanaian writing.
‘Oh Asamoah Gyan did this and I do ask myself why you didn’t say it before. You want somebody to praise his hero before you counter that person” he emphasized.
As it stands we are yet to know the club Asamoah will move to after ending his deal with Indian Topflight side NorthEast United.
Asamoah is Ghana’s all-time top-scoring with 51 goals after 109 games for the country.
