A coronavirus patient receiving treatment at the Walewale Government Hospital has passed away Saturday Afternoon.
The patient was taken to the facility after he showed some symptoms of the novel coronavirus.
The sad incident occurred after blood samples of the patient were taken to the laboratory turned out to be positive.
Confirming the news was the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Arimyao Somo Lucky who said that samples of the patient were taken prior to his death and the results turned positive.
The family of the deceased, however, do not believe that their relative died due to coronavirus because he had no travel history in the past few months.
However, they revealed to a section of the media that the deceased was asthmatic, a condition they believe led to the death of their relative.
“He was taken to the facility some days ago with signs and symptoms of the virus but died shortly on admission. The result is out but is positive,” he reportedly said.
